In this first post, I am going to introduce the "geoplano" a very interesting didactic source which helps to introduce the basic contents of geometry in a manipulative way.
As you can see here, the "geoplano" is a square board with nails that stand out of the board. In this way, with some elastic bands you can form any geometric figure you can imagine.
Thanks to its applicability, students learn geometry in an active way and you can change rapidly to any other activity using this aid.
There are different types of "geoplano":
Isometric
It has a triangular plot. The points are located at the vertices of the equilateral triangles. The geoplane can be introduced at the beginning of primary school so the child can manipulate, play and learn for himself. At this stage, it can be fun to make one yourself on your own geoplane.
Circular
It is a collection of points on a circumference that are spaced at the same distance, It allows students to build regular polygons 3,4,5,6,8 12 and 24 sides. It can still be good to study the properties of the elements of a circumference and the figures in it. The most frequents are those with 24 points.
Orthometric
With a squared plot, they normally have 25 points.
